We would like to explain to you why we need a building.
We are looking to obtain a building for the following reasons:
The building would be the nerve center for all of our outreach and community education programs, such as our workshops, educating on how to care for their birds better, so that they may also live a long healthy happy life.
We would be able to reach out to the youth to get them interested in caring for the birds as we do now. Without them, the future for the birds will be gone.
We will be able to teach the children of today about nutrition, grooming, cage care, and much more.
We will have one location for all of our birds to live until we find them a new forever home. At this time we have our birds in foster homes around Kansas City, one location would allow the public to see all the birds when they are looking for a new family member.
In four (4) years we have taken in over 700 birds to rehome, although several of them are not adoptable, we are looking to open up a sanctuary to keep those birds so they may live out their life without more pain.
We spen over $10,000. yearly keeping the birds healthy. Of course we we are looking for sponsorship to help with this. Please contact us so that we may tell you what you get for helping.
Food:
We are always looking for bird seed, pellets, treats, toys, cages and much more to assit with caring for the birds we have.
A building larger than 7,000 sq ft (10,000 sq ft) would allow us to meet all of our goals as we have listed them above.
We would also be able to hold our monthly meetings at the location, storage space, so we will not have to rent storage units.
