Mozart (Moe) as known to everybody was a very special dog. He
was a gentle giant, as the breed is often called, but Moe was the gentlest of
them all. In his time with our family, he accepted everyone and everything that
came into our lives. He was very gentle with our birds, allowed them to fly on
him and ride, gentle with our grandchildren, they often hugged on him, fell
asleep on him and played his favorite game tug-o-war, in which he could have
pulled them all over, as he often did with me, but allowed them to "win" the
game. He was a protector of all things in his house and yard. He often made
parameter checks around the yard and let me know if his other brothers and
sisters (human or not) left the security of surroundings.
There are way to many
wonderful memories to share about Moe but the one thing that sticks out in my
mind is one summer day, my grandchildren were out in the back yard, my
granddaughter, opened the gait and proceeded to chase a balloon the was flying
loose. Moe stayed with her the whole time and didn't allow the neighbor to
approach her, instead he stayed with her holding on to her dress, barking as
if telling the neighbor to stay away and go get me. Moe loved to swim with all
of us, keeping a watchful eye on everybody, and splashing everyone. Moe crossed
Rainbow Bridge on September 15, 2006 while I was holding him in my arms. He
truly will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Our family holds a very
special place in our hearts for Moe. We love you Moe, and Momma misses you
terribly.
Thank you for sharing my memories.
