What is VIRTUAL ADOPTION?
Virtual adoption, in the context of animal welfare, is a way for individuals to support an animal's well-being through financial contributions or other forms of support such as toys, food, caging, or vet care, without taking physical custody of the parrot. This differs from traditional adoption, where someone legally take ownership of the parrot. Virtual adoption can be for parrots in rescues, and adopters often receives updates, photos or videos of their supported parrot.
Not a Legal Adoption: It is important to understand that virtual adoption is not the same as legal adoption. The parrot remains under the care of the organization, while the virtual adopter financial or other support.
Benefits for Parrots: Virtual adoption helps cover the cost of caring for the parrot, allowing the organization to focus on providing medical care, food, and other necessities.
Benefits for Adopter: Virtual adoption provides a way for people to support parrots they care about, even if they cannot adopt them physically. Each parrot/bird will have only one virtual adoptee at a time.
